Destin Florida fender system replacement construction project
Our Work

Destin Harbor Fender System Replacement

Following a vessel impact that compromised the structural integrity of the existing fender system, Gorman mobilized its full marine fleet to restore safe navigation infrastructure at Destin Harbor. The project encompassed complete removal of the damaged structural and non-structural fender components, extraction of existing 12×53 H-piles, and installation of new 100-foot 12×53 H-piles, a new composite fender system, channel markers, clearance gauge signage, and an updated handrail system. Operating with two barges, Gorman efficiently removed and staged damaged fender sections while field-splicing and preparing pile sections for installation. Underwater dive services supported the removal of damaged components and assisted with pile template setting during installation. The $1.3 million project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
